What plateworks.org Tracks
Netlify hosts this site and keeps ordinary server logs. There are no accounts and no sign-in. Plausible counts page views, clicks on links that leave the site, downloads and form sends. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you, and I see only totals: which pages were read, which sites sent readers, what countries they came from and the kind of device.
Reading here sets no cookies. Your color scheme choice stays in your browser.
Subscribing gives your email address to Kit, which sends the newsletter. Kit records whether each issue is opened and which links you click. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
Joining as a member happens on Stripe's checkout page, so your card number never reaches me. Stripe keeps the payment record and runs the page where you manage or cancel your membership.
Almost everything loads from plateworks.org itself. Plausible's script loads from plausible.io. Some pages load photos from images.unsplash.com and my photo from www.gravatar.com. Pages with a video load a blank placeholder image from img.spacergif.org. Each of those hosts sees your request.
