Your tracks go to one place: the person who makes your poster. Last updated 2026-10-13.

Your tracks and photos

You start an order on a form, and you upload your tracks and photos on the page after it. I use them to make your poster and nothing else.

Four services each hold a part of your order. Tally holds the form's answers: your name, your email, the title of your poster, your note, and whether you're a member. Dropbox holds your tracks and photos. Notion holds the order record: your name, your email, what you bought and the dates. Stripe takes the payment on its own page, so your card number never reaches me.

Your poster is made on my own computer, with no analytics and no tracking. The only thing that leaves it is a request for public map data covering the area of your poster.

I delete your tracks and photos 90 days after your poster is delivered. Reply to any of my emails and I'll hold them for next year's poster. Email me and I'll delete them sooner. The order record and Stripe's record of the payment stay.

These pages

Netlify hosts these pages and keeps ordinary server logs.

Almost everything on them comes from plateworks.org itself, fonts, scripts, images and video included. There are two exceptions: Plausible's counting script loads from plausible.io, and the film on the main Tecopa page loads a blank placeholder image from img.spacergif.org while the video starts. Those hosts see your request.

The order form opens on Tally's site and the payment page on Stripe's. Nothing from either one loads on these pages.

Plausible counts page views, clicks on the order buttons and on links that leave the site, and, on the page after the form, that an order was started. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you, and I see only totals. These pages set no cookies either. If you switch between light and dark, your browser remembers that choice on your own device, and it isn't sent anywhere.

Support

Tecopa Plateworks makes a shaded-relief poster from your own GPS tracks. You start an order, upload your tracks, and I send a proof. Nothing prints until you say yes.

Contact

Badwater Guidance LLC publishes Tecopa Plateworks. Email lab@plateworks.org. For a question about an order, say which poster it is. If a track won't load, attach the file and say which app it came from.
